New Release from Kore Technologies Offers Enhanced Net Change Functionality

Kore Technologies has announced Release 1.8 of its enterprise integration suite, which provides enterprise application integration (EAI) and extract, transform, and load (ETL) capabilities for connecting IBM U2 applications to Microsoft SQL Server and other applications. The new version of Kourier Integrator for U2 and SQL Accelerator offers many new features plus significant enhancements to Kore's “Net Change” technology, which enables near real-time data integration, high performance and scalability. The Net Change system has been extended to support applications that delete items in the UniData/UniVerse database and also to support distributed files on UniVerse systems.

“There are applications that delete records rather than marking them as inactive,” Mark Dobransky, managing partner of Kore Technologies, told DBTA. “Now you don’t have to do a full refresh.” Implementing data warehouse or system integration is much simpler now because the only time a full data refresh is needed is if the data model changes, according to the company.

There is also support for Net Change with distributed files in UniVerse in the new release. Because of a historical limitation in Unix, at one point, as databases got larger, companies would generate what were known as distributed files. “They are no longer needed,” Dobransky said. “But they are there.” The new feature will provide performance benefits for users leveraging this file type to manage large UniVerse files with their application.

Other key enhancements in the new release include: concurrency control and binary transfer for FTP messages; enhanced Quick Start tools that simplify and expedite new integration projects; new utilities for packaging and deploying a "suitcase" of integration components; and support for 32-bit and 64-bit versions of SQL 2005 and Microsoft Windows.

Kore releases major updates every six months or so, Dobransky said. The company is increasingly positioning Kourier Integrator and SQL Accelerator as true enterprise application integration middleware, as well as expanding the number of databases it supports.
