Revelation Announces Universal Driver 4.5; EMEA User Group Seminar Held in U.K.
Revelation Software has announced the availability of Universal Driver 4.5. The new Universal Driver 4.5 is an incremental improvement to the Universal Driver 4.0, with enhancements primarily focused on the management tool that comes with the driver, Mike Ruane, president and CEO, Revelation, told DBTA. “We have increased the speed a little bit on the actual processing itelf but mostly we have improved the management tool so that when a user goes to the console on the server, they can see some more information and it just makes their lives a little bit easier,” he said.
“Any users who have the Universal Driver 4.0 can upgrade to the UD 4.5 for free,” added Robert Catalano, Revelation director of sales. The Universal Driver 4.5 is available for Windows platforms only. However, Catalano noted, “Novell users can still use the UD 3.0.”
Additionally, with the next major release of Revelation's flagship product, OpenInsight 9.0, expected in the fourth quarter, the EMEA office in London held a Revelation User Group and MultiValue User Seminar in London earlier this month. The one-day seminar included fewer sessions than the Revelation user group conference held in May in Las Vegas, and the sessions that were offered were abbreviated, but Revelation nonetheless sought to bring “a flavor” of the Las Vegas conference to the seminar in London, said Ruane.
