Data professionals are moving away from just performing low-level automated tasks and towards tasks that require people management skills, and the ability to communicate better with the businesses, according to a proprietary new research study conducted by Unisphere Research and sponsored by Embarcadero Technologies. A survey of over 1400 data professionals found that they frequently need higher level social, and problem-solving skills, versus narrowly focused technical skills, as data professionals increasingly serve as the intermediaries and activists between the business side, the data management side and IT sides of the organization.
